Vanrakshak – Guardian of the Forest | Handcrafted Bamboo Wall Art

Vanrakshak – Guardian of the Forest | Handcrafted Bamboo Relief Wall Art | 8" × 9.5"

Short description: Perched among the blossoms, the great hornbill keeps watch over the forest it helps to grow. A hand-cut bamboo bird with finely burnt feathers rests on a painted branch across woven bamboo mat, bringing the spirit of the Northeast's wild woods into your home.

This piece shows a single great hornbill on a blossoming branch, in the same craft style as Dhanesh. Hornbills are often called the "farmers of the forest" because they spread the seeds of the trees they feed on. That makes a single bird a fitting symbol of nature, growth and quiet strength.
